Cancun, Q.R. — Four people were killed over the weekend when gunmen entered a Cancun seafood restaurant and opened fire.
A group of armed men entered El Gordo seafood restaurant located on Talleres Avenue in Region 103 of Cancun over the weekend in what reports say was a targeted attack. Before leaving, three people were killed and one left in serous condition. He later died in hospital.
The attack occurred at 7:45 p.m. when restaurant witnesses say two men got out of a car and began shooting at both employees and customers.
The deceased have been identified as 22-year-old restaurant waiter Rodrigo R.P.A and Cristian A.P.C., 23, also a waiter at El Gordo. Restaurant customers Edin Cordero, 37, was killed inside the establishment while Erick A.O.P., 22, was rushed to hospital but died later.
Police cordoned off the restaurant noting that interviewed witnesses said that before fleeing the establishment, the armed men shouted that they were from the Jalisco Cartel. Shells from an AR-15 were found on scene.
