Four arrested in Cancun airport for traveling with fake documents

Cancun, Q.R. — Four Cuban nationals were detained at the Cancun International Airport in two separate arrests for traveling with fake documents.

Federal Police in the Cancun airport detained the first three who had arrived in Terminal 2 from Havana via Interjet. An inspection of their passports, which was outfitted with Schengen visas, proved to be fake.

On the same day in Terminal 2, federal police took notice of a male passenger who was trying to avoid them. After asking him for identification, he presented a driver’s license from the state of Guerrero that did not match his other identification, including his passport.

The man, who was of Cuban nationality, was found carrying fake Mexican identification. He was headed for Viva Aerobus flight 4210 bound for Reynosa, Tamaulipas.

All four were taken into custody and held for the public prosecutor.
