Five taken into custody, one claims to be Cancun officer

Cancun, Q.R. — Cancun police say three men and two women were detained for the crime of dispossession and damage after one falsely identified himself as a ministerial agent to invade an apartment.

According to the report, the five were captured by police in SM 77 after the victim said that a male subject identified as Israel N, threatened to evict him from the apartment, claiming to be a ministerial police officer.

He said that after returning home to change the lock on his apartment door, he noticed the group of five changing the lock of the main building door. He called police, explaining that they had also broken a window to gain access.

When police arrived and questioned the group as to why they were damaging property, they claimed to not know anything, however, one male who identified himself as Israel N, claimed to be a ministerial officer. When asked to prove his identify, he was unable to do so.

Arrested were 27-year-old Shebril N, 24-year-old Ana N, 25-year-old Andrés N, 23-year-old Israel N and 29-year-old José N old. All five were arrested and held for a corresponding investigation.
