Fee hike for Cancun public transportation approved

Cancun, Q.R. — A rate increase for public transportation for the city of Cancun has been approved.

Members of the Joint Tariff Committee of the Benito Juárez City Council met with the Secretary of Infrastructure and Transport, Jorge Portilla Mánica, to authorize the increase of rates for public passenger transportation.

Starting early May, the cost to ride will increase to 9.50 peso. The proposal for the increase will affect all units, state and municipal.

An exact date for the rate increase to take effect has not yet been announced.
