Feds seize 144 kilos of methamphetamine hidden in buckets

Culiacán, Sinaloa — With the support of two narcotic dogs, members of the National Guard seized a shipment of approximately 144 kilograms of methamphetamine from a courier company in Culiacán, Sinaloa.

The seizure of the shipment occurred when conducting random checks, two narcotic dogs marked several plastic packages as positive. The dogs, which are trained to find drugs, explosives and paper money, marked the shipment of buckets.

Upon inspection, authorities made the discovery of 21 plastic bags totaling approximately 144 kilograms of methamphetamine. The buckets were destined for an address in the state of Nuevo León.

The buckets from the shipment were seized and made available to the Federal Public Ministry where corresponding inquiries will be initiated.
