FedEx package of marijuana confiscated at Cancun airport

Cancun, Q.R. — Federal police at the Cancun International Airport have confiscated a package of marijuana that arrived in a sealed envelope.

With the help of their K9 narcotics dog Zeno, federal agents were alerted to a FedEx package that had arrived from Guaymas, Sonora destined for Playa del Carmen. Inside they found a yellow envelope wrapped in plastic. Inside, police discovered 500 grams of marijuana.

The package arrived on a 10:30 a.m. FedEx flight and was being inspected when Zeno alerted to an illegal substance. The package was then sent through their high tech X-ray machine for further evaluation.

The package was confiscated and delivered to the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office for corresponding investigation.
