Federal officials find millions of unused money

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The Government of the State of Quintana Roo have discovered nearly 9 million unused peso in the previous budget.

State government through the Ministry of Health, discovered 8.9 million peso which was allocated in fiscal year 2016 for the operation of the program Strengthening of Medical Care.

The funds were  not used for the assigned program by the  previous PRI government led by Roberto Borge Angulo. The unused budget, which was distributed in two installments, was to cover operating expenses for 13 mobile medical units, however, the money was never put toward the program.

Since the resources were never applied, the current PAN-led governorship of Carlos Joaquín González along with Secretary of Health, Alejandra Aguirre Crespo and Secretary of Planning and Finance, Juan Vergara Fernandez, sought a new agreement.

The unused money will go directly for the operation of the 13 mobile medical units that are set up around various parts of Solidarity to help under privileged families receive medical and dental attention.
