Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Extreme heat will continue to effect much of the state of Quintana Roo with the continuation of mid to high 30°C temperatures.
The heatwave is expected to continue to effect the coast of Quintana Roo as temperatures are anticipated to reach 38°C in some regions throughout the day.
The entry of tropical maritime air with variable moisture content from the Caribbean Sea into the Yucatan Peninsula is maintained by the remnants of a weak low pressure channel located along the southern portion of the Gulf of Mexico.
This will lead to cloudiness and isolated rainfall with occasional showers over some areas of the state of Quintana Roo including Cancun and Riviera Maya. However, even with clouds and rainfall, temperatures will remain hot.
For the Yucatan Peninsula, today they can expect cloudy skies in the afternoon with wind from the east and southeast 15 to 30 km/h with gusts up to 45 km/h in coastal areas and an expected daytime temperature of 38°C.
In Solidaridad, partially cloudy with chance of occasional thunderstorms. High expected to be 33°C with humidity of 75 percent, creating a heat sensation of at least 39°C. Winds east-southeast of 15 to 25 km/h, with occasional gusting of 45 km / h.
Daytime temperatures for the coastal region are expected to range between 36 to 38°C with minimum evening temperatures of 24 to 26°C.
