Turkish Airlines says they are planning a new route that will connect the city of Istanbul with Mexico City.
If permits for the new route are granted, the airline says it will be a milestone, making it the first time the airline would land in Mexico with a nonstop flight from Turkey.
Currently, the Turkish airline has a fleet of 326 commercial aircraft for the transfer of passengers and cargo, which connects 253 destinations.
The government of the Eurasian country, through the Turkish embassy in Mexico, has tried several initiatives to encourage more Mexicans to travel to Turkey.
Turkish authorities have sought the support of Mega Travel, an operator that offers seminars in several cities of the Mexican Republic to promote the great tourist attractions offered by the Middle East.
The airline says they are planning to open the new route in 2019 which will be a direct flight.
