Cancun, Q.R. — The age-old ice cream chain, Diary Queen, has entered the Cancun market with its first store.
Parts of Cancun continue to become Americanized with numerous US fast food chains, pubs and clothing stores, and now, Dairy Queen.
The company’s stores are operated under several brands, all bearing the distinctive Dairy Queen logo and carrying the company’s signature soft-serve ice cream along with the trademark curl.
The newest edition to their collection is located at Xcaret Avenue of Supermanzana 35 next to Plaza Hollywood in downtown Cancun where Dairy Queen fans can order up their favorite treat including the company’s famous Blizzard.
As of the end of 2014, Dairy Queen had more than 6,400 stores in 27 countries including an excess of 1,400 locations outside the United States and Canada.
The largest Dairy Queen in the United States is located in Bloomington, Illinois. The busiest store in the United States is in Rosedale, Maryland. The largest store in the world was built in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The busiest store in the world is located in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Their first branch opened in Mexico in 1991. This is the first store in Cancun and 12th in the country.
