Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A young crocodile was relocated from central Playa del Carmen Wednesday after it was found wandering a beach near 16th Street.
A fisherman rescued the animal after he saw it roaming the beach area of El Recodo. The one-meter-long croc was seen heading toward 16th street when the fisherman said he and a friend managed to tie rope around its snout and wait for authorities.
Authorities did arrive and properly secure its jaws. He was removed from the central area and taken to an outskirt region where he can roam safely.
