Cozumel public transport services set to restart

Cozumel, Q.R. — Public transportation will resume on the island of Cozumel as of October 1, starting with three daily routes. Marco González Anguas, director or municipal transportation announced that they will resume public transportation service due to the update of the yellow epidemiological light.

He stated that between municipal authorities and the concession companies, a determination was made to reactivate the service with three daily routes from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. González Anguas explained that the service will be shuffled. One day, he says, the service will be offered by Unión de Permisionarios (Uniper) and the other, by Sindicato de Taxistas.

He noted that all health protocols will be in place for public transport users and drivers to avoid coronavirus contagion, adding that the units will be permitted a 50 percent maximum operation capacity.
