Cozumel, Q.R. — Cold temperatures around the continent are motivating travelers to seek warmer regions with 35 cruise ships scheduled to land Cozumel over the next week.
The Port Administration of Quintana Roo reports more than 3.6 million travelers arrived to the island as of November 2017, up from the previous year.
The island of Cozumel remains a top cruise ship destination. Sunday, two ships are scheduled to land with another 4,000 passengers, bringing the total already this year to more than 100,000 passengers.
With additional ships docking Monday onwards, the island is anticipating another 103,000 passengers to disembark between January 8 and 14. Tuesday and Thursday this week are set to be the busiest of the days, each of which is said to expect approximately 20,000 cruise ship passengers to the island.
The Mexican Caribbean island of Cozumel remains one of the top cruise ship destinations in the country, and is regularly visited by the most prominent cruise ships of the world.
