Cancun, Q.R. — Cold front number 11 continues to hover over the region bringing cold nights and cool days. Located along the Yucatan Peninsula, the front extends to Florida creating cloudy skies and the potential for strong storms.
The polar air mass associated with the cold front continues to cause a drop in the temperatures along the Gulf Coast down into the state of Quintana Roo. The front is expected to move away from the region this afternoon, which should result in warmer temperatures.
Next week, however, Mexico’s National Meteorological Service is forecasting rain and thunderstorm possibilities beginning Monday.
The weather forecast for Cancun, Playa del Carmen and the rest of Riviera Maya, today expect clear to partly cloudy skies with possible occasional rain. Daytime temperatures will be around 27C (80F) with nighttime lows of 18C (64F).
