Colombians released in Cancun found dead in Mexico City

Cancún, Quintana Roo — Two Colombians released from police custody in Cancun have been found dead in Mexico City.

On Sunday, a man and a woman of Colombian nationality were found shot to death in colonia Obrera de la Alcaldía Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City. The pair were part of a trio of Colombian nationals picked up by Cancun police in February for petty theft.

The three were accused of robberies, in particular, home robberies and an assault that took place at the Cancun Costco when a person was robbed of their cash.

Since no formal complaints were filed against the three, they were released from police custody.

Two of the three were discovered deceased around 11:00 a.m. Sunday along Isabel la Católica and Juan A. Mateos streets in CDMX next to the red car they allegedly traveled in.

Police in Mexico City are using public surveillance cameras in their investigation.
