Cancun, Q.R. — The mayor of Cancun says they have completed the installation of 14 new open air gyms around the city.
“With the extensive public work program that we developed in Benito Juárez, we have been able to provide new sports infrastructures,” said mayor Remberto Estrada Barba.
According to the report issued by the Ministry of Public Works and Services, the program includes the installation of 14 open air gyms that have been placed in residential neighborhoods around the city.
“Applying the resources with an efficient and transparent management of the finances, we have gained advancement toward the goal of consolidating more than 140 infrastructures of this kind for Cancun,” explained Estrada Barba.
He recalled that these open air gyms are close to homes and are free for use by all residents.
The Ministry of Public Works and Services says that the project includes the installation of exerciser areas as well as lighting, garrisons and sidewalks. They say that the outdoor gyms are covered with a rooftop so residents can use them during rain or sun.
