Playa del Carmen, Q.R.- Cristina Torres, candidate for the mayor of Solidaridad for the Por Quintana Roo al Frente alliance, says her main agenda will be to work to guarantee the safety of the families in Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras and surrounding communities.
“Our challenge is safety. We have to work, so we are going to reactivate the police booths in all the parks. We are going to establish the neighborhood alert buttons that allow us to act faster for public safety,” she said.
Cristina Torres listened to the residents of the 28 de Julio neighborhood who acknowledged that although there is still work to be done, police surveillance has increased during her administration.
Torres explained that was achieved due to the support of the people and the financial discipline that was implemented from the beginning of her administration.
She said that for these reasons, they were able to increase the number of patrols to nearly 200 units as well as hire more police officers and improve their working conditions.
“Financial discipline is essential” she says. “Remember that in a year and a half we managed to improve three times the financial rating that allowed us to lower the rate for the payment of debt.
“We are sure that if we continue with this discipline and without taking new credit, we will have more public work money and more quality services,” she said.
Cristina Torres will continue her campaigning over the next several weeks along with other state delegates for the upcoming July 1 elections.
