Cancun, Mexico — New tariffs have been announced by the federal electricity commission that they say, begins November 1 for most.
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) has announced a tariff increase for businesses and high-consumption domestic users. According to a statement from the Federal Electricity Commission, rates for industrial users will see an increase of between 2.5 percent and 3.5 percent.
Commercial businesses will see a rate increase of between 1.5 and 2.4 percent, while rates for high consumption domestic users (DAC) will experience an increase of 1.5 percent on their October / November electricity bill.
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) says about 99 percent of households throughout Mexico are in a normal use tariff, which amounts to about 36.7 million customers.
CFE says that the new rates reflect the increase in the prices of fuels used to generate electricity that were registered in October 2017 compared to September 2017.
