Tulum, Q.R. — The driver of a large industrial vehicle overturned his unit along the highway at the entrance to Tulum Monday, leaving him trapped.
Reports say that the drum of the cement mixer was revolving but not properly attached causing it to become dislodged. The movement and dislodging caused the driver to lose control of his vehicle, which eventually capsized on the highway, closing several lanes.
The driver, although trapped inside the unit, was not injured. Police arrived but were not able to do much until firefighters came to free him from inside the cab.
The accident happened about two kilometers from Tulum, causing major traffic congestion.
