Cancun’s BestDay Travel takes on Airbnb with same hosting services

Cancun, Q.R. — BestDay Travel says they are now offering the same Airbnb shared hosting services, in particular, for Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

The global travel company known for the sale of airline tickets, hotel and transportation, says they already offer shared hosting services in beach destinations along the Yucatan Peninsula, however, they are now offering the service in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.

The Airbnb-style service is needed, particularly in Playa del Carmen, says BestDay CEO. “In this new format we give the opportunity to lease apartments or houses in the area of the Yucatan Peninsula, especially in Playa del Carmen, where the same demand for these services has forced us to serve this market,” explained David Rebolledo, CEO of the company.

In Playa del Carmen, there is more supply of apartments than hotel rooms, he said.

He added that the company will expand their hosting service platform to next include Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Huatulco, as well as other major cities in the country.

“It’s a program that started four months ago, but we foresee that it could easily triple its size next year and represent 10 percent of our (total) revenues,” Rebolledo said.

According to company data, this year they recorded a growth of around 25 percent in consolidated revenues.

“We are always aware of the needs of the client and what they are demanding, so we are one of the few platforms that offers comprehensive services for their trip, from the plane ticket to the airport transportation to the place where they will stay” he explained.

BestDay began operations in Cancun in 1994, originally offering airport transportation services and from there, created a web platform to expand the market presence at a national and international level. The company has offices in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Dominican Republic and Orlando, Florida.
