Cancun thieves arrested in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Four Cancun men who made it their mission to rob a newly opened meat shop in Playa del Carmen have been arrested.

An Emergency 911 call was made earlier this morning regarding a Maxicarne butcher shop in the subdivision of Villas del Sol in Playa del Carmen.

According to preliminary information, agents of the municipal police managed to arrest the alleged thieves and a taxi driver belonging to the Andrés Quintana Roo Syndicate of Cancún in the vicinity of the Galaxias del Carmen II in Playa del Carmen.

Reports say when police stopped the Cancun taxi, five people were inside, however, one managed to escape. The one who escaped was said to be armed. Police began a search operation to find the thief, closing a lane on Colosio Avenue. They also surrounded the Solidaridad road arch with Flor de Ciruelo street.

The search extended to the vicinity of the Los Olivos subdivision, however, they came up empty handed.
