Cancun, Q.R. — The body of a man wearing a Andrés Quintana Roo taxi uniform was found over the weekend on a dirt road on the outskirts of Cancun. Emergency services were alerted to the discovery of a person lying along the road.
Police arrived to find the body of a deceased male believed to be a Cancun taxi driver. Authorities did not release details other than he’d been shot.
Since his Saturday morning death, a taxi unit belonging to the same driver’s union was located with bullet holes in SM 201 of the city. The taxi was found with five gun shots to the passenger’s side and a hand-written left message on the windshield.
Although no injuries were reported in that Sunday night incident, police still implemented a search for those responsible. There were no announcements of arrests in either of the Cancun taxi cases.
