Cancun shooting claims another life

Cancun, Q.R. — One man has died after two were shot in the city of Cancun. The shooting took place Monday night is the region of 221.

Witnesses say that around 8:00 p.m., two men were walking down the street when they were attacked by two armed men who shot them.

After receiving notice of gun fire, elements of the municipal police and paramedics of the Mexican Red Cross moved in where they found two young men with gunshot wounds. One of the men was in serious condition with at least two chest injuries.

Both men were transferred to the General Hospital, however, one of them died from chest injuries. The deceased has been identified as a 31-year-old private security guard. The second man has been identified as an 18-year-old who suffered a gun shot wound to his knee.

At the scene, experts located four 9 mm casings. While police were investigating, they were notified that this was the same area in which two men were shot two weeks ago. From that shooting, one of the men also died in hospital. The Attorney General’s Office initiated an investigation for homicide.
