Cancun, Q.R. — The municipality of Benito Juárez will see 600 military personnel dispersed throughout the region, says Governor.
State governor, Carlos Joaquín González, along with commander of the Tenth Military Region, Gustavo Nieto Navarro, have 600 military personnel deployed to the municipality of Benito Juárez to increase security for residents and visitors to Cancun.
The military support arrives from the National Defence, who have been working with the state governor in recent weeks to coordinate a strategy with the armed forces and federal forces that will strengthen security systems throughout the state, starting with Benito Juárez.
The 600 military officials will be operating in 18 bases between Benito Juárez and Solidaridad and will be working in coordination with the state police to ensure greater security as the summer vacation holiday season is just around the corner.
