Cancun residents subdue and tie alleged attacker for police

Cancun, Q.R. — Neighbors in a residential area of Cancun subdued a man who they said attempted to assault a woman. The incident took place Thursday morning when area residents in SM 233 tied a man and left him in the street.

When police arrived, they found a man who was later identified as 46-year-old Juan C from Tabasco. He was found laying in the road with his hands and feet bound. A group of neighbors kept watch from across the street until he was lifted into the back of the police unit and hauled away.

Neighbors alleged that moments before, the man attempted to assault a woman, threatening her with a knife as she left her home. The two physically struggled with the woman screaming for help.

That was when neighbors intervened, subduing the man and preventing him from fleeing until police arrived.
