Cancun, Q.R. — The city of Cancun rated within the top 10 list of the best places to work in the country.
According to the National Occupation and Employment Survey, Cancun was rated seventh for its dynamism of tourism and the generation of formal employment with benefits. The city of Cancun made the list with nine other cities, mostly in the north of the country.
The National Institute of Geography and Statistics, which was part of the survey, takes into account the variants of the employed population, informal employment, health services and salaries. However, Cancún occupies first place in the list that is not in the north of the country.
For Governor Carlos Joaquín, the generation of better paying jobs, both in the north and in the south, is a priority that has shown achievements with the creation of nearly 35,000 jobs in the second quarter of the year. The city of Cancún has been positioned as one of the most important cities in the country regarding more work and better opportunities for people.
According to the survey, first place as the best city to work in Mexico is Saltillo, the capital of Coahuila for its automotive sector. The second best city was named as Hermosillo, capital of Sonora for its commerce, real estate and mining.
The third place is the city of Chihuahua, capital of the state of Chihuahua for its scientists and forest industry including fruit growing on its wide border with the United States.
The rest of the list includes Culiacán, Sinaloa, Monterrey, Nuevo León, Tijuana, Baja California, Cancun, Quintana Roo, La Paz, Baja California Sur, San Luis Potosí, San Luis Potosí and Querétaro, Querétaro.
The variants that the National Institute of Geography and Statistics takes into account in its National Occupation and Employment Survey are data on the employed population, informal employment, health services and wages.
