Cancun police arrest three after exchange of gunfire

Cancun, Q.R. — Police in Cancun arrested three males Sunday after a confrontation that lead to the exchange of gunfire. According to preliminary information, police surprised a group of men around 8:30 a.m. making a drug trade on a street in SM 72.

When the trio noticed police, they opened fire as they fled into a nearby building. Neighbors in the area identified the building as a known drug house. Gun shots between police and the three men finally stopped when police were able to enter the building and subdue those inside.

On Sunday morning, police arrested 20-year-old Huber N, 25-year-old José N and 26-year-old Luis N. At the time of the arrests, 19 bags of various narcotics and two loaded weapons were seized. A large area of the residential block was tapped off while police collected evidence and searched the building.
