Cancun firemen put out Isla Mujeres warehouse fire

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Cancun firemen were tasked with putting out a fire that started in an old shack used by Isla Mujeres fishermen. The fire was reported Tuesday morning in an area of Puerto Juárez, which belongs to the municipality of Isla Mujeres.

However, it was Cancun firemen who attended to the report of a palapa fire that quickly spread to the dry wood structure below. Two trucks were sent to SM 85 where they located the burning structure.

Five firemen extinguished the five by five meter burning warehouse used by area fishermen to store gear. No injuries were reported. Personnel from Civil Protection continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
