Cancun couple arrested for attempted murder with ice pick

Cancun, Q.R. — Elements of the Quintana Roo Police detained a couple who allegedly injured a man in a Cancun leather shop using an ice pick.

In their report, authorities say the pair were arrested and charged with attempted murder after a woman accused them of using an ice pick to assault her husband. Police say they were performing normal surveillance tours in SM 76 when a woman hailed them, asking for help. She told police two people had just entered the store and attacked her husband with an ice pick.

The injured husband was able to drive himself to hospital where he received treatment, while the woman pointed police toward a group of people where they began searching for the two aggressors. Within minutes, police were able to located the pair, one of which was a man and the other, a female who was seen carrying an ice pick and wooden stick. She was observed knocking on a door, shouting at those inside when police spotted her.

Both the woman and man, identified as 30-year-old Daniela N and 36-year-old Juan N, were arrested for their alleged participation in the crime of attempted murder and placed at the disposal of the corresponding authority.
