Cancun, Q.R. — The manager of a bar in Cancun was shot and killed in broad daylight Thursday afternoon while driving in central Cancun.

The shooting was recorded at 3:45 p.m. between Bonampak and Sayil avenues in front of Playa de Toros when Daniel Ernesto N was shot three times while in his vehicle. Witness reports say that two passengers from another vehicle shot at the man.

However, a nearby traffic agent called in a report of a vehicle slamming into a pole in front of Plaza de Tores. When the traffic director approached the vehicle, he realized the driver had been shot.

Police and paramedics arrived, but the driver had already died. Witnesses said that a white Jetta with four people inside was responsible for the shooting, adding that two people inside the car shot at the man in the truck before the car fled down Tulum Avenue.

Daniel N was manager of the bar, The Premier. He was shot twice in the abdomen and once in the shoulder. Traffic Directorate and Gendarmerie personnel arrived to cordon off the area where they found several shell casings.
