Cancun airport narcotics dog sniffs out drug shipment second time this month

Cancun, Q.R. — A package of narcotics has been detected at the Cancun International Airport by Memin, the on-site drug dog.

Memin managed to sniff out a shipment of drugs in a large container departing from Cancun, bound for Manchester, England.

Inside the outgoing aluminum container, police discovered cocaine and hashish wrapped in cylinder wrappers inside the frame of the container. In total, police found 70 grams of cocaine and 55 grams of hashish.

This is the second time this month Memin has sniffed out drugs from packages. On November 11, the specialized narcotics K-9 also detected drugs inside an Estafeta package at the Cancun airport.

Federal police made an inspection of the parcel and found a 20–liter container of liquid methamphetamine inside.

That particular package came from the state of Guerrero to Cancun. The person meant to receive the package was also investigated. The 20-liter container was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office in Cancun.
