Body of missing Tulum taxi driver found

Tulum, Q.R. — The body of a man believed to be a missing taxi driver was discovered in Tulum Thursday.

The body was found around 9:00 a.m. in front of the archaeological zone of Muyil along the side of the Tulum – Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway.

Authorities were informed of the find. After arriving, they report finding a bag that contained a partially burned, decomposing body of a male. According to authorities, the body is thought to be missing taxi driver, 38-year-old Lorenzo Balam Puc, from Tulum.

The director general of Public Safety and Municipal Transit, Gabriel González Ornelas, confirmed that a taxi belonging to the Tiburones del Caribe union was also at the scene.

Bakan Puc had been reported missing for eight days.
