At 119, the oldest man in Mexico lives in Quintana Roo

Cancun, Q.R. – The oldest man in the country recently celebrated his 119th birthday.

Don Jesús Castillo Rangel of Othon P. Blanco, Quintana Roo celebrated his 119 birthday in his home over the weekend, making him the oldest man in the state of Quintana Roo as well as all of Mexico.

Before the official birthday celebration Don Jesus Castillo Rangel said he is happy have another birthday and thanked God for keeping him alive. He said he had not planned on any sort of party or fellowship for his birthday, but thanks to the president of the State DIF, Mariana Zorrilla de Borge, and DIF Municipal Director, Patricia Ramirez de Espinosa, he was given a small party because they brought him a cake and sang happy birthday.

Jesus Castillo Rangel said he has had many fulfilling years because he is in good health. He also said he has a lot of friends who support him, but above all he is thankful to God. He also says that at his age he still has eyes good enough to read the Bible and that he is happy to be 119-year-old.

The delegate of the National Institute of Adult Senior Staff (Inapam) in Quintana Roo, Norma Jimenez de Leon, said that this year, the Institute recognized “Don Chuchito” as the oldest person in Mexico.
