Apiqroo announces the startup of Jetway ferry service for the Puerto Juárez-Isla Mujeres route

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Jetway ferry services will begin operating the Puerto Juárez-Isla Mujeres, reported the Director of the Administration Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo, (APIQROO), Alicia Ricalde Magaña.

In a press release, Ricalde Magaña stated that the company will begin offering their services on July 15 with 12 daily runs in each direction, with intervals of 30 to 60 minutes. She says the new Jetway ferry service will operate from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“With the commissioning of the Jetway ferry service, users have a new choice, which gives them an opportunity to choose the service that best suits their needs and schedules,” said the director, who added that the intention is to offer the public more service choices.

She also noted that Jetway will have discounted prices for locals. She says with official identification, island residents and state residents can purchase tickets at a discounted price.

In March, administrative personnel from Jetway said they remained on dry ground and were unable to begin operating for Easter as hoped due to an Amparo granted to Ultramar. The Amparo was granted earlier in the month after the Ultramar ferry company filed for the protection that would see Jetway able to work that route.

Ricalde Magaña stressed that the Administration Portuaria Integral de Quintana Roo, (APIQROO) does not issues operating permits for the ferries.
