Cancun, Q.R. — Another small aircraft that landed at the Cancun International Airport was found lacking permits to operate within the country.
Federal Police at the Cancun airport located a private foreign aircraft that did not have the corresponding permits to conduct operations in Mexico.
The State Coordination of the Federal Police of Quintana Roo, Cancún Airport Station, reported that Thursday at 1:30 p.m. they performed an inspection, verification, security and surveillance service on the FBO Platform (Fixed Base Operation) of the Cancun International Airport.
The inspections are done in order to verify the status (legal stay and criminal history) of private aircraft. Federal officials discovered a foreign plane with an expired air certificate rendering it inoperable inside and outside of the country.
The plane has been grounded with the proper authorities being notified so they can determine its legal situation.
