Another arrested in July Cancun kidnapping case

Cancun, Q.R. — The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo reports that ministerial police officers assigned to the Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Kidnapping Investigation have arrested a man believed related to the kidnapping of two students in July of this year.

In a press release, la Fiscalía General del Estado de Quintana Roo says that acting on an arrest warrant issued by a presiding judge, Ivan N was taken into custody for his probable participation in the crime of kidnapping of two young people inside a Cancun entertainment nightclub Glow Extravaganza.

The arrest was made in Region 103 as a result of intelligence work led by prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office Kidnapping Unit. With the capture of Ivan N, there are now seven people who have been apprehended and related to the kidnappings. However, the field work, cabinet and analysis of expert evidence that strengthen the research portfolio, continues.

The Attorney General of the State of Quintana Roo says they will continue to carry out the necessary investigations to resolve the case in order to grant legal certainty to the families of the victims.
