Andrés Manuel López Obrador sends warning, no one will threaten Mexico with a wall

Mexico City, Mexico — President-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador, sends a warning, saying no one will threaten Mexico with militarizing or building a wall on the border.

In a Monday meeting where López Obrador announced 25 priority projects, he stressed that he intends to create productive projects so that Mexicans work in the country and do not feel the need to migrate to the US.

He addressed the country saying “Nobody is going to be threatening us that the borders are going to close, that they are going to militarize the border or a wall is going to be built because we are going to grow in Mexico.

“There will be work in our country. That’s what all the projects are for,” he said. “The purpose is for Mexico to become a powerhouse that will change the correlation of forces.”

López Obrador pointed out that “The objective is to keep Mexicans in their places of origin. The idea is that Mexicans can work in their country and their places of origin and continue to be linked to family, custom and culture. Migration will be optional, not mandatory,” he added.
