Amazon to open logistics center in state of Yucatan

Umán, Yucatan — The governor of Yucatan has announced that world ecommerce giant Amazon, is investing in a new logistics center in the municipality of Umán. Yucatan governor Mauricio Vila Dosal along with Amazon executives announced new investment project.

Vila Dosal says the opening of the new logistics center in Umán will generate a wide variety of jobs with competitive salaries. He affirmed that this type of investment is important because it generates large sources of employment, so its presence, despite the pandemic and the difficult times, is an example that the private sector continues to trust Yucatan.

The Director of Amazon Operations in Mexico, Diego Méndez de la Luz, thanked Governor Vila Dosal and his team for the support. “Amazon’s expansion reflects our commitment to customers in Mexico, which is focused on improving the customer experience. We have a responsibility to the country and the communities where we operate and we are proud to generate more job opportunities that will benefit the southeast region of the country,” he said.

Méndez de la Luz said that the logistics centre will allow better service to Mexican customers through greater selection and quick deliveries.
