Cancun, Q.R. – With the relocation of the annual Aeroshow to Cancun, organizers are hoping this year’s event will attract upwards of 30,000 spectators.
For 2017, the annual show has been relocated to Cancun from its usual host station of Cozumel. For the past several years, the Aeroshow has attracted approximately 14,000 spectators to Cozumel, says its organizer Carols Toledo, however this year, he says that they are hoping for up to 30,000 visitors with the relocation of the event to the Mexican Caribbean.
This year, nine airplanes will take part in the acrobatic flights that will be held over the race track in Cancun. He says that the mainland is a much larger place than the island of Cozumel and therefore, more appropriate to host an event with such a large influx of visitors.
Cozumel played host to the annual airshow for the previous seven years, however this year Toledo says the show has been rejected by current Cozumel mayor, Perla Tun.
The two-day event will be held in Cancun April 15 and 16.
