Aeroméxico opens new Veracruz-Monterrey route

Veracruz, Veracruz — The Aeromexico company inaugurated its Veracruz-Monterrey air route, which will give interconnection with different tourist, commercial and business destinations, said the governor of Veracruz, Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares.

The governor indicated that there are two daily flights between the state of Veracruz and Nuevo León, which will allow Veracruz to reach the United States and the Asian continent with greater ease.

He added that there is also connection to one of the most important conurbated areas of the country, with great potential for development and with which there can be a very important commercial and tourist exchange.

He also considered that another benefit will be the connectivity that both cities will have before the start of operations of the port expansion of Veracruz, where the first ship will arrive in mid-year.

“It connects us with one of the most important conurbated areas of Mexico, such as the metropolitan area of Monterrey,” he said.

“In July of this year, the first ship will arrive at the new port of Veracruz. We will have a new port in Veracruz that will mean more economic development, more employment and more commercial activity with the world,” he added.

He also indicated that there will be more tourist exchange with Nuevo León because through the new air route, both cities will be less than two hours away.

He added that they will initiate an intense tourist promotion campaign in different parts of the country starting February, for which 50 million peso will be used, which the State Government will grant in loan to the Trust of the 2 percent tax on lodging.

“We are going to promote tourism, Monterrey and Veracruz are one hour and a half on this Aeromexico flight. We will have an intense tourism promotion campaign starting in February,” he said.
