Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Authorities have reported collecting a brick of cocaine that was found washed up on a Playa del Carmen beach.
The package was noticed around 7:00 a.m. Sunday morning by an area resident who phoned it in. Members of the Mexican army arrived to verify and remove the package.
The brick was seen along the beach area several meters from the city’s popular Punta Esmeralda beach. Police verified that it was approximately one kilo of cocaine.
The area was closed until the package was removed.
