Cancún, Q.R. — After an altercation between bricklayers building a new hotel, police say two are dead and 30 arrested.
Police say that they arrested 30 people in a dispute Saturday night between a group of workers at a construction site for the Sensation Hotel.
The say that at around 9:30 p.m., federal agents received a report of two deceased people inside a construction zone of the Sensation hotel located on the Cancun–Playa del Carmen highway.
When they arrived, they cordoned off the hotel where the bodies of two masons were discovered, while attempting to question others. Witnesses would only say that there was a fight, refusing to give further details so federal authorities requested the support of the navy, state police and ministerial police to arrest all on site.
In all, police say more than 30 people were taken into custody but did not provide an exact number or further details.
